Resort Operations Manager
Helen Li is a most welcome addition to the Warrenmang Team.
Helen came to us as a Team Leader in our Reception Office in mid 2015, but she quickly showed us she had skills, talents and expertise that she wished to utilise on a broader scale. Helen is a true professional and her positive contribution to the Office Administration Role for which she applied was instantly obvious. Helen was offered an early promotion after three months at Warrenmang and is now our Resort Operations Manager.
Helen came to us from Qualia, a 6 star resort on Hamilton Island where she worked as Food and Beverage Manager in charge of operations of all restaurants associated with the resort.
Her knowledge of food and wine is outstanding and she has quickly become an ambassador for the wines produced in our 5 star rated winery.
Helen is also an excellent chef in her own right and has created many delicious Cantonese dishes for us to enjoy. We hope that in 2016 that Helen will commence to offer cooking classes at Warrenmang for those who would love to learn the art of making delicious tiny dumplings and mouth watering wantons amongst other dishes.
Helen completed her studies at Camberwell Anglican Girls Grammar School and went on to further her qualifications at Monash University with a Bachelor Degree in Information Management.
Her career took another turn toward hospitality when she returned to Hong Kong and studied Food Service Management and Wine Appreciation at the University of Hong Kong. Advanced studies at SOPEXA in Hong Kong, including knowledge and appreciation of the wines of France rounded off her studies before her return to work in Australia.
Helen speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin in addition to her excellent English… we are sure you will enjoy chatting with her when you come to stay at Warrenmang Vineyard and Resort.
Head Chef Warrenmang Vineyard Resort
Shaun Horton, Warrenmang’s Head Chef must have known his destiny was to work in the kitchen of a winery restaurant. From his early days when he completed his apprenticeship at the Commodore on the Park he continued pursuing his cooking career at the popular Southgate Motel restaurant in the Mt Gambier wine region. Shaun also developed an appreciation for wine and food matching when he managed a well known café in the wine region of Coonawarra. Heading to Victoria to broaden his knowledge, Shaun wended his way down to the Macedon Wine Region where he cooked at the Farmers Arms in Daylesford, refining and developing his skills and techniques in one of country Victoria’s best gastro pubs. Shaun came to the Pyrenees wine region as Warrenmang’s Sous Chef in 2014 and worked alongside his mentor Sean Dunn…until Sean resigned for family and health reasons in May 2015. Chef Shaun has quickly adapted to his new mantle of Head Chef, ably supported by our new Sous Chef, Dan Cossar and apprentice Tanya Miles. Shaun continues to impress our guests with delicious, classically prepared dishes, using only the best and freshest ingredients and the comments in our guest book are testament to his talents in the kitchen. Shaun is looking forward to introducing a new Menu in the coming weeks and he has continued the tradition for which Warrenmang has become renowned by daily baking a range of irresistible artisan breads for the Warrenmang restaurant and also for some lucky guests to enjoy at home. Come and experience fantastic dining at Warrenmang soon! We look forward to welcoming you.
WINNER OF THE 2011-2012 GOLDEN PLATE AWARD for outstanding service and excellence, Hospitality, front of house - Goldfields Region of Victoria.
Kevin Buckle has been one of Warrenmang's greatest assets for 20 years, and in the words of recent Swedish guests at Warrenmang on NYE 2008 "he makes the place!") Kevin has worked with various members of the Bazzani family since time immemorial... he worked with Paola Bazzani (Luigi's sister) and Mario (Luigi's brother) in their Melbourne restaurants in the 80's. He also worked with Luigi and Athalie for several years at their famous La Scala Restaurant in Ballarat. Kevin is a very important part of the Warrenmang family and well known for his wicked sense of humour... (we had to ask Kevin to wear a nametag recently to deter him from telling guests he was ‘Luigi” – it was all very confusing for our patrons unfamiliar with Kevin’s little jokes. He loves to share his humour with our guests as he offers them his personal brand of excellent service, combined with his trademark laugh which can be always be heard around the resort.
